It was the only feasible place outside of the truck to mount it, but I am reconsidering. I agree that it would not help in an accident, although Im not sure its more dangerous per se... but I have to counter all of that with the thought that a series rover isn't going to do anyone any favors in a wreck. </p> <p>In terms of off road performance, I think that will be an issue... maybe the short term solution is to throw it in the bed before hitting the trail and just use the bumper to carry it. It reduces your approach angle, and your first trip off road will likely damage the jack, mounts, and bumper.
